Hey folks, looks like things are starting to heat up in Serie A! Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi recently responded to some comments from Max Allegri of Juventus regarding the tight title race.
Apparently Allegri referred to Juve as "the guards chasing the thieves" of Inter. Not hard to see how that jab might rub some folks the wrong way at Inter. While the board was upset by it, they chose not to further comment. Wise move if you ask me - no need to add fuel to the fire.
Inzaghi was asked about it all as his team prepares for the Super Cup. From what I read in Football Italia, he said it's all pretty normal trash talk in soccer. Having been around the game so long himself, he knows how competitive things can get.
But he also cautioned not to forget about AC Milan, who are still right in the mix despite trailing a few points. Inzaghi praised their strong club and good form lately. Seems he wants to keep an even keel as the pressure builds with Inter staying neck and neck with Juve in the standings.
At the end of the day, he says the most important thing is their work on the pitch. Let the gameplay do the talking, not mind games off it. And I can't say I blame him there - gotta keep focus on winning matches instead of sparring with words. The title will be decided when that final whistle blows, not in interviews. Wishing Inzaghi and Inter the best of luck as things heat up!
